Le Ménage

The Mas is typical of the Luberon region: farmhouse with courtyard, it is the most complete form of provencal farm building. Around the "Le ménage", 2 hectares of farmland guarantee your peace with fields of flowers and fruits and a few rows of vines. From the infinity pool you can admire the villages of Bonnieux and Lacoste with the famous castle of Marquis de Sade. “Le Ménage” is south facing, 3.5 km from Goult, 3.5 km from Lacoste, 6 km from Bonnieux and 10 from Gordes. Avignon is forty-five minutes away and Marseilleis one hour away by motorway. If you like walking, you are at the foot of the Luberon mountain, in the center of the Regional Park. If you prefer the bicycle: you are to the route that takes you from Cavaillon to Forcalquier cyclable. The cycling trail passes near the house on the old railway track, accessible from the Gare de Bonnieux, 50O metres away from the house. In Goult, you can play tennis and learn about activities in the region with the "Maison du Village". Horse riding, golf, climbing, are possible. In Saint Michel l'Observatoire, you can visit a center of astronomy (you must call ahead to make an appointment at 0492706400). In Roussillon, the “Conservatoire des Ocres” welcomes you with a specialized library.... There are of course, "les marches de PR0VENCE " on saturdays in Apt, on Sundays in Coustellet and L'Isle sur la Sorgue, on Mondays in Cavaillon. On Fridays, there is the “marché Bonnieux” with beautiful scenery, a small intimate space. In the evening from 6 p.m to 8 p.m, the “marché paysan” in VELLERON” is typical and you can find cheap vegetables and fruits which have just been picked. (Take the N100, direction Avignon and then turn right towards VELORGUES.) There is also a small market in the basement of Bonnieux cooperative near the house on Wednesday morning (in summer).
