A calm, warm week in Euskadi

Our lovely landlady, Mertxe, has made an unique spot for her guests. Our 12 year old son immediately fell in love with the pool, and the animals in the garden. We stayed a week in the charming house built in traditional Basque architecture, and found it to be ideal for relaxing, as well as an excellent point for exploring the pretty villages nearby. Having a car is necessary. Mertxe has provided the house with all we needed for having a wonderful stay, and it . Unforgettable was the evening we were invited to the marvelous meal of tortilla, cured ham and bacalao al pil-pil together with the other guests. The lovely Irish family who stayed in the other house added to the pleasure. Together with the nice German couple and ourselves from Norway, it was an international diverse company. Mertxe explained detailed how the pil-pil should be prepared, and we will certainly give it a try at home, and send her a picture of how it turned out. We will undoubtedly recommend Ea Astei to our friends!
