Captain Vangelis Thiraios traveled by cargo ships around the world for almost 3 decades. On his long trips, he was always dreaming of his island, Amorgos.
And it was always the longing of his homeland that gave him great pleasure. Returning to Aegiali was always a dream. At this place, which he loved so much, he built “NOSTOS”.
A small hotel with the warmth of family hospitality and the colors and scents of a Cycladic home.
In “NOSTOS” we continue the journey that Captain Vaggelis dreamed of and we are faithful to the values of Greek hospitality.
Accomodation
“NOSTOS” is built in traditional Cycladic style and its gardens are flooded with local flowers, creating an environment full of colors and scents. An ideal relaxation place for the guests during the whole day.
All studios are fully equipped, overlook the Gulf of Aegiali and the picturesque Potamos village that sits perched on the mountainside. They are spacious, with double and / or twin beds and can accommodate 2-4 people. All studios have balcony or terrace while those on the second floor have sea view. They have all the amenities that will make your holiday relaxing and enjoyable.

Location
“NOSTOS” is ideally situated in the bay of Aegiali-in the northern part of Amorgos. Aegiali is a picturesque village on the homonymous bay, with many restaurants, bars and shops along the beach. In a quiet location close to the village center and the beautiful sandy beach with clear, blue water, you will find “NOSTOS”.
Its location is very convenient and right next to all amenities. You can have easy and quick access to many of Amorgos’ sight seeing as well as to beautiful trails-perfect for hiking lovers.
Activities
HIKING
If you love hiking, you can enjoy wonderful trails at Amorgos paths. You will enjoy the fresh air and the scents of amorgos’ nature, you will be enchanted by the sea view and the dramatic landscapes. You will also come across several sites of archaeological interest. Here are the most important routes that you can walk without special equipment:

SCUBA DIVING
At Amorgos you can indulge in diving expeditions. You can explore the wonderful seabed of the island. To discover a fascinating underwater world. In Aegiali operates a diving center which organizes diving at selected points of the island. Ask us for more information during your stay at “NOSTOS”.
YOGA
Amorgos is “the place” also for those who love yoga or they would like to try for the very first time. In a special center in Aegiali, among other classes,you can have lessons for: yoga, therapeutic yoga, TaiChi, meditation etc. For sky lovers there are special astronomy nights.
EXCURSIONS
Amorgos is ideal for one-day boat excursions. You can visit Donusa, Irakleia, Schoinoussa and Koufonissi, while daily you can also reach Naxos within three hours. For even more nearby swimming opportunities, there is daily a boat to the sandy beach of Gramvousa from the deep bay of Kalotaritissa. And for Nikouria island from Agios Pavlos.
