LOCATION: Situated in Lindos, a picturesque and historical village enjoys the views of a rocky natural harbor. The village is easily accessible by car, located 45 km south of the town of Rhodes, port and International Airport. Lindos village has been characterized as a global cultural legacy monument. All motor vehicles are prohibited from entering the town and the village retains its piece and virginity away from the crowds. Parking is available near by the main square of Lindos (walking distance). OPERATION: Melenos Lindos operates from the 1st of May until the 31st October each season. ARCHITECTURE: The property is successfully harmonized with the ancient site of Lindos. Donald Green’s significant contribution gave Melenos Lindos the appearance of a village within a village and its unique architecture and design combine ancient history with 21st century expectations of comfort and service. MICHALIS MELENOS PROFILE: It has taken almost thirteen years for Michalis Melenos to achieve his dream of creating the Melenos Lindos. His concept was to build a small hotel which would accurately reflect the complex history of the island and in particular, the unique architectural heritage of Lindos. It would also provide a showcase for some pieces from his collection of rare treasures from Greece, Turkey and the Middle East, including some architectural fragments which are built into the structure. With the collaboration of the architect Anastasia Papaioanou and Australian artist-designer Donald Green his dream has been fulfilled. Their combined skills have successfully enabled Michalis Melenos to achieve his primary goal of creating an environment of historical relevance to harmonize with the ancient site of Lindos. It is also a place of aesthetic integrity which lifts the spirit. CUISINE: Melenos open air Restaurant operates daily from 8.00 am to 23.00 pm and represents one of the foremost private restaurants on the island of Rhodes. You can enjoy your breakfast, light lunches and romantic dinners with spectacular views of Lindos bay under the shadows of the ancient Acropolis, surrounded by an environment of complete peace and relaxation. Due to our location, our menu is based on Greek traditional kitchen with south Mediterranean influences as well as authentic local lindian recipes which go from one generation to the other. Menu changes daily, offering you the opportunity of a great variety of culinary homemade options, based on fresh ingredients carefully selected, many of which we cultivate on our garden. For guests who have special dietary preferences, follow specific diets, are vegetarians or have allergies of any kind, please let us know in advance and our Chefs will be more than happy to create specialized menus and cater accordingly in order to meet your individual needs. COOKING COURSES: For the first time in Rhodes, Michalis Melenos and our Food & Beverage team is offering our guests the opportunity to combine their leisure with the perfect culinary vacation. Our guests will now be able to learn how to make these in a beautiful, friendly and informal setting, using traditional Greek methods, and then sit down for a traditional Greek dinner of what they have prepared. The courses are given in English and Greek in small groups of 8 people and participation is booked always prior to arrival date. Lessons take place in our professional kitchen, fully equipped and with enough working space for everyone to get rolling and chopping! Except of beautiful memories our guests will have the chance to take home all culinary secrets of Greek traditional cuisine and homemade delicacies. GARDEN LOUNGE AREA: The Garden lounge area is the ideal location for day dreamers. A genuine oasis under the hypnotizing Lindos sunset combined with deep blue colors of the sea.
