The Petritis Guest House was built with particular respect for the architectural characteristics of the Mani region and was made exclusively with natural materials - stone, wood and old tiles for the roof - to create a structure that would be in harmony with the environment and feature the distinct exterior elements of a Mani war tower. You will encounter true Mani hospitality here in all its glory. You will experience the warmth of a home combined with the discrete luxury of an old manor house with all the modern facilities. Located in the village of Itilo one of the oldest villages in Mani of Laconia Prefecture, it rises to an altitude of 256 metres, opposite the Kelefa fortress, overlooking the bay and the sea. Hospitality Two comfortable indoor common areas are ready to welcome you for a bit of rest and relaxation: The old house features a traditional, low-ceilinged hall with a floor of local limestone and functions as a winter sitting room that includes a fireplace. It has two small windows and a door leading to the garden. The space is ideal for cold winter days, as it allows visitors to relax while listening to music, reading in a specially designed nook, enjoying a drink and conversation around the fireplace and playing cards or board games in a warm and discrete environment. The second interior common area is located in the new tower building. It includes a bar, a sitting area with a fireplace and the breakfast room. The space is enclosed by stone walls and is accessed via the exterior stone staircase and a second door that leads to the large terrace with the barbeque and wood-burning oven. This space features an LCD TV with satellite reception. The breakfast room is a long and narrow space with windows and comfortable seating, a marble floor and handmade lighting fixtures on the walls. The outdoor space is terraced over different levels, a practice quite common in the Mani region. It includes a Belvedere terrace with a barbeque and traditional wood-burning oven. The view of majestic Taygetos Mountain, the fortress of Kelefa and the sea fills the senses with images, colours and sounds that visitors can take with them on their return journey. The recessed lighting highlights the terrace while the tables and comfortable seats are ideal for enjoying a drink, a snack or breakfast in spring, when the colours make a post card of the landscape, or on the sweet days and nights of summer. Another level features the impressively massive wooden main entrance of the manor house with a second terrace and a garden with the tall, perennial locust tree whose shade invites guests to enjoy a coffee or have a drink in the evenings to the sound of rustling leaves under a starry sky.
